From
its inception in 1980 with three small boys, Talmud Torah Magen Avot in the Holy City of Tsfat has spared
no effort in striving for the highest expression of a true Torah education.
Today, over 400 students from diverse backgrounds learn and play together.
We all know that good nutrition and health are vital to the ability to learn and develop properly.
Magen Avot's Hot Meals Program provides hundreds of students with a daily hot and
nutritious lunch, prepared fresh on the premises. Since the vast majority of the students come from underpriveleged homes, this meal is most often their only hot meal of the day. Although the Hot Meals Program greatly increases the school's budget, we are committed not to cut this vital program.

The Talmud Torah places a strong emphasis
on Derech Eretz and character development through regular contests and campaigns
designed to foster the personal refinement that is integral to a genuine education.
We have the highest educational
standards and are commitment to academic excellence. In a recent nation-wide exam,
the top three results all emerged from Magen Avot.
A significant number of students
are orphaned or from broken homes. The Talmud Torah employs an outstanding team of educators, psychologists and private tutors committed to transmitting
authentic Jewish education and values to the next generation.
The
Magen Avot Boys Choir is one of our most successful extra-curricular activities. The choir regularly performs live onstage for the public, from a
repetoire of original and traditional music. Directed by gifted members of the
teaching faculty, the boys sing to standing room only audiences.
