Overlooking the old cemetary, the resting place of the great Kabbalist, the Arizal and Rabbi Yosef Karo, author of the Shulchan Aruch, across from Mount Meron, resting place of the Tanna Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, author of the Zohar lies Kiryat Breslev.
Set in the midst of Kiryat Breslev is the Great Breslev Synagogue & Torah Center, including a two-level synagogue, a special event & seminar hall, a two-level yeshiva and dormitory, and a seven-mikveh complex on the ground level. |

On just about any given Shabbat, the synagogue brims with "Tsfasers" from all backgrounds, as well as a wide variety of visitors from outside the city. With a stunning view overlooking the same mountains of Meron that the Holy Ari, Rabbi Isaac Luria, and his followers gazed upon as they welcomed the Shabbat 500 years ago, the Synagogue has become a focal point for the Shabbat experience in Tsfat today. |
