Rav Kenig Arrives in New York For Fall Visit
Rav Elazar Mordechai Kenig, shlita, leader of the Tzefat Breslov community, will be visiting New York, scheduled to arrive on Oct. 29 and staying for several weeks. He will be staying with the Klein family at 19 Briarwood Lane in Monsey, as on previous trips. Public shiurim and any other events to be announced. We look forward to seeing the Rav again and hearing his words of Torah, and wish him good health and success.
Second Breslov Synagogue Opens in Borough Park
We are pleased to announce the opening of a new Breslover shul in the Borough Park section of Brooklyn, in a different neighborhood than the Breslover shtibel on 16th Avenue. Founded by Rabbi Yosef Cheshin and friends, the new beis ha-medrash is called "Hisachdus Avreichim-Breslov" and is located in the basement of 1334-43rd St., between 14th and 13th Avenues. It hosts daily minyanim, as well as on Shabbos and Yom Tov, and a variety of shiurim are in the planning stage. The Breslov Center wishes the founders of this new shul great success in creating a center of Torah and tefillah and in "hafotzas ha-mayonos," spreading the teachings of Rebbe Nachman to a wider circle of mevakshei Hashem.

KEREN YITZCHOK ISAAC CREATED FOR REICHMAN FAMILY
Keren Yitzchok Isaac is a newly-created fund for the widow and ten children of Rabbi Yitzchok Isaac Reichman a"h. Reb Yitzchok, an accomplished talmid chokhom in the Stoliner Kollel and a key figure in the Breslover Shtibel of Borough Park, passed away recently from complications following heart transplant surgery at age 45.
If we all work together on this important mitzvah, we should be able to insure that the Reichman family's finiancial needs will be covered until his children grow up and can provide for themselves, be"H.
This may sound like a tall order.
But, in fact, a similar campaign was conducted on behalf of the family of Rabbi Yitzchok Wolpin a"h', who also passed away at a tragically young age less than two years ago, with tremendous success. What made all the difference was the tzedakah given by people who didn't even know the niftar, but recognized the need and wanted to help.
Whether you give $18 or $18,000, it all adds up.
THIS IS A CHANCE TO PERFORM THE MITZVAH OF TZEDAKAH AT A TREMENDOUSLY HIGH LEVEL!
Therefore, please join us by sending your tax-deductable check to:

Likkutei Halakhos on the Weekly Torah Portion Online
Rabbi Dov Grant of Jerusalem has embarked on the worthy project of translating excerpts from Reb Noson of Breslov's masterwork Likkutei Halakhos as related to the weekly Torah portion. The Brerslov Center wishes him great success in this important contribution of "hafotzas ha-mayonos." Please visit his website here.
Hitbodedut

"A Simple Jew" from the blog of the same name and Rabbi Dovid Sears of the Breslov Center have put their heads together to create a new website dedicate to solitude and hisbodedus. It is basically a cyber-reading room that presents excerpts from a wide range of Jewish texts and essays on the value of spiritual retreat and various forms of meditation and contemplation in Jewish tradition. True solitude may be hard to find in this tumultuous world, but here are some signs that point the way:
Segulah
Rabbi Shmuel Rosenberg, the "Sofer of Tzefat," is now making available Rebbe Nachman's segulah (propitious remedy or charm) for "grace, favor, charm, charisma," as recommended in the "Alef-Beit Book" (Sefer HaMidot). The segulah is to write on parchment: "Kesef v'Zahav Chesed v'Emes Aluf." Each parchment costs $10. Rabbi Rosenberg also writes Mezuzot, Tefillin, Megillot, and Sifrei Torah.
Choir Forming At Sheves Achim/Flatbush Minyan
To add an extra dimension to Sheves Achim's Shabbos and Yom Tov davening, a choir devoted to singing both known and newly discovered Chasidic compositions, as well as appropriate contemporary works, is being formed. Participants will be trained by a world renowned choir conductor. Interested parties should contact Rabbi Meir Fund: 718-338-8442, or email

Breslov Minyan Opens in Flatbush
We are pleased to announce that a new Breslov minyan has been established in Flatbush by the well-known sofer and scholar, Rabbi Aron Berlin, shlita, and his son Reb Moshe Berlin, an "activist" in promoting the Rosh Hashanah gathering in Uman for many years. The Berlin family and chaveirim aspire to create a center of Torah and Tefilloh in Flatbush that reflects the fiery enthusiasm and depth of insight for which Breslover Chassidus is known. Schedule of minyanim and shiurim is still being developed. For further information, please call R' Moshe Berlin, home # 718-851-9332, cell # 1-917-803-4155.

New Song From Rebbe Nachman Discovered
Archivist Nochum Karlinsky has discovered musical notations from Rabbi Yerucham Blinderman, zal, a noted Breslover chazzan in Ukrainia, which preserve a long-forgotten melody composed by Rebbe Nachman. Meah Shearim's reigning clarinetist Yechiel Frank played the niggun in Meron on Lag Ba-Omer this past spring. To hear this lost musical gem, call Otzros Breslov: 011-972-2-995-0000 (the first six numbers are for those calling from America), press 5 then 5 again - the niggun starts after a short introduction in Hebrew which states that the niggun was found titled "The Melody to Which the Tzaddikim are Escorted to Gan Eden".

English Chayei Nefesh Being Edited
An English translation of Rabbi Gedaliah Kenig's Chayei Nefesh: An Inquiry into the Role of the Tzaddik is now being edited by scholars in the Tzefat Breslov community that Reb Gedaliah founded. This project is being overseen by Rabbi Ephraim Kenig, a son of the author, zatzal, and Administrator of the Breslov Institutions in Tzefat. His brother is Rav Elazar Mordechai Kenig, shlita, the community's spiritual leader. Chayei Nefesh is Reb Gedaliah's scholarly and impassioned response to the Mitnagdic critique of the Chassidic conception of the tzaddik, in support of which Rav Chaim of Volozhin's "Nefesh ha-Chaim" is commonly cited. The original translation was undertaken by Rabbis David Zeitlin and David Sears during the late 1980s. The English edition will also contain numerous corrections of source references and include a biography based on stories gleaned from Reb Gedaliah's family members and students. Anyone who would like to submit material for this biography is urged to contact "Chayei Nefesh Editor" via tzaddik@nachalnovea.com
